David Gordon Underbrink peacefully passed away Friday, September 7, 2012, at the age of 70. Dave was born August 25, 1942 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Ralph B. and Ellen LaVon Underbrink. Dave graduated from W. B. Ray High School in 1960 and attended Texas A&I University from 1960 to 1964. Dave was honorably discharged from the US Army Reserves in 1968. Throughout his career in sales and management. Dave worked with both Whites Stores and CC Brick and Lumber before ultimately forming Diamond D. Company and Aqua Pure Distributing which he operated until his passing. Dave was generous to all and enjoyed frying turkeys for the homeless for ten years ending in 2003. Over his lifetime, Dave enjoyed all sports, hunting, fishing, was an avid golfer and had keen card sense. Dave was the personification of 'gregarious' and could do the 'gator' like it was going out of style! He was known to his friends as 'Diamond' and often identified with the song 'Well, I'm just an ole chunk of coal, but I'm gonna be a Diamond someday''.

He is preceded in death by both his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Tracy K. Beacham of Austin, Texas; brothers: Ralph B. (Davida), Mark L. (Jill), and Steve W. (Carolyn) Underbrink all of Corpus Christi; sister, Kay E. (John) Sullivan of Rockwall and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel followed by a celebration of his life.

A private Entombment will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Seaside Memorial Park.
