I met Sally in 7th grade at Hamlin, in P.E. class. I'd just had a fight with my best friend & was down in the dumps when Sally asked me what was wrong. I said, 'Best friends don't work.' She said, 'I'll work and be your best friend, here' and proceeded to put her gum in my mouth. That was the beginning of a long and valued friendship. We had many an adventure trying to outsmart Emerson, her watchdog. The summer she turned 16 her dad got her a small power boat in Rockport. We thought we were safe out on the water smoking cigarettes. We didn't take into account that her daddy had a powerful set of binoculars!
