Paul H. Young, Jr., 62, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2005 in a local hospital. He was born July 21, 1942 in Dallas, Texas to Paul and Matilda "Tillie" Young. He moved to Corpus Christi in 1949, graduated from W. B. Ray High School and Del Mar College with an Associate Degree in Electronics. He served in the U.S. Navy from July 1961 to July 1965. Paul co-owned and operated Young’s Water Well Service Company from 1971 until 1995, Lake Vista Utility Company from 1987 to 1999 and managed River Acres Water Supply Corporation from 1992 until he retired in 2003. He was a member of the Texas Ground Water Association, the Texas Rural Water Association and the Texas Water Utilities Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Tillie Young in 1986 and his grandson, Samuel Wyatt Young in 1999.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Betty Sosebee Young of Corpus Christi; was most proud of his four children, Andrea and Bill Visoski of Brunswick, Maryland, Jerry and Shannon Young and Larry and Crystal Young of Corpus Christi and Leslie and Alex McCloskey of Odem; seven grandchildren, Kailey and Kerrigan Visoski, Jerry Allen Young, II and Marymae Young, Lexis Young, Laney and Lahni McCloskey; his sister, Pat Dace of Elkmont, Alabama and her children; and his Christian brothers and sisters he worshiped with at Arlington Heights Church of Christ.
