Joe Keliehor

Joe Charles Keliehor, 61, of Padre Island, Texas, passed away on April 24, 2003, after a courageous battle with diabetes. He was born in Robstown, Texas, to Margaret and Charlie Keliehor.

 

Joe was a loving husband, father and uncle and a man whose two passions in life were people and the game of golf.

 

Joe won the Junior City Golf championship two consecutive years while in high school and graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1960 . He attended TCU and East Texas State on golf scholarships. Following college, he became Golf Pro at the Huntsville Country Club in Alabama. While there, HCC sponsored him on the Professional Golf Association Tour. Among numerous golfing honors and recognitions, Joe became a member of the prestigious First Flight Golfing Staff while on the PGA tour. He owned and operated the Driving Range on SPID for many years and later owned and operated Bonus Q'Pons for fifteen years.

 

Joe is survived by his wife Barbara, daughter Leslie King (Ronnie), and granddaughter Rylee and sister Karen Keliehor, all of Corpus Christi and niece Abbe Oden (Stephen) and children Chip and Mary Margaret, of Austin and nephew Walter Priestly of Robstown. He is also survived by stepchildren Weston (Rhonda) Reid and Lane Reid of California and Mary K. (Tim) Halleman of Pennsylvania.

Janice Friedman (Edison)

Miss you so much. Karen and I talk about you all the time and it is through these conversations that we have helped each other heal. I have all of your highschool anuals and photographs that she has mailed and sent to me here in Mexico. I cherish the times in my life when you were there for me as a friend when I needed one the most. Rest in peace dear one. Janice Friedman Edison
