Bill was my best friend & truly a great guy...I think of him often. never forget when he taught me how to drive. I was a slow learner tried six before getting my license, but Bill never was discourged!
I remember a time one summer that Bill, his girlfriend and I stayed up all night and in the early morning we walked from her home near Gollihar to Six Points and pigged out on donuts -- Bill was a great guy and had a great warm smile -- such a sad loss and so many years ago Judy Graves Teel
Bill died in a car wreck in 1962. He was in the Army, stationed just south of Shreveport, La. He and a buddy had driven into Shreveport to see a movie. Driving back to his base, he fell asleep and hit a bridge abutment. He died of a broken neck. My college roommate, Linda Hurley, was engaged to him at the time. She was a 1961 miller graduate. Bill was the nicest guy and always had that great smile. Everyone loved Bill. Such a shame to leave at such a young age. He has been sorely missed. It was awfully hard on Linda and she wore his engagement ring for a long time afterwards. Didn't know if you all knew the circumstances surrounding his death.
Bill & I met at Menger & instantly fell in like with each other. So much so we tried to convince everyone we were cousins. Such a tragic loss, too soon. Still have fond memories of him.
