Oscar Andrew Garcia

Oscar Andrew Garcia passed away March 17, 2017, at the age of 75.

He is preceded in death by his parents Francisco C. Garcia and Beatriz R. Garcia.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lucy Villarreal Garcia and daughters, Traci Garcia and Kelly Garcia (John Esparza) and grandchildren, Travis Garcia, Kailey Garcia, Peachie Garcia-Esparza, and Troy Luke Esparza. Other survivors include his sister, Olivia Ovalle (Oscar, deceased), brothers, Orlando Garcia (Jean), Gerardo Garcia (Stella), Daniel Garcia and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Oscar graduated W. B. Ray High School in 1960 and Texas A & I University in Kingsville, TX in 1970. He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964. He retired from Equistar Chemical in 2002 where he worked as a purchasing agent.

Oscar had many interests among them photography, running, cycling, gardening, and reading. He participated for many years in "Beach to Bay" and two cycling events: the "San Antonio to Corpus Christi Ride" and the "Hotter N Hell Hundred" in Wichita Falls, TX.

Services will be held in San Antonio, TX April 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at the Baruch HaShem Messianic Congregation Center.

Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
