When I saw the movie American Graffiti, I was stunned to see the character Terry Fields, played by Charles Martin Smith - who was, in that role, Jimmy Brents. Jimmy was a great friend, smart, had the memory of an elephant, and loved anything on wheels. I remember one occasion in which Bird Pontiac had a promotional sale on a selected number of cars, and Jimmy parked himself in a 1950 Ford coupe from Saturday evening until the dealership opened again on Monday morning in order to buy the car for $16.00 - it was hoot (of course he called upon friends to sit in his stead from time to time as his need to take care of personal issues occurred, brought about by the inconvenience of such an endeavor). He left behind a terrific wife Sandra, and two handsome sons, Michael, and Keith.
