Eddie, we go all the way back to Little League when you were catching for the Braves and I was catching for the Pirates. We got to know each other when we started at Hamlin 60 years ago and remained friends all the way through high school. Later in our lives we became even closer and spent a lot of quality time being together, telling stories and just enjoying each other's company. You were a distinguished Naval officer, a great American and a fine friend. Like Mike Harrison said, we were brothers and loved each other and those feelings will last through eternity. It is hard to believe you are gone and we will not see you again in this lifetime, but rest in peace knowing you will always be loved and will never be forgotten. I wish you Godspeed on your heavenly journey. Your friend forever, Ronnie

I remember Eddie and that big smile on his face.  I can still see that picture of him on the gym floor at the football rally when we played Baytown.  Russell Moody had this goose and the guys were goosing this gander around the gym and Eddie was right there with them having a blast as we yelled, ”goose the gander, goose the gander”.

He was a fun guy and I remember him to be kind and fun to be with.  I hope he had a good life and is home in glory.

We are deeply saddened to learn of Eddie's passing.  As many have mentioned, he was a fun loving, adventerous guy that was smiling or making jokes most of the time.  He was just fun to be around.

He was a true patriot, making a career in the U. S. Navy and serving our country during the Viet Nam war.  He flew photo reconnaissance missions, and on  two different occassions had to eject from his aircraft. Thank you Eddie for your brave service.

Our sincere condolences to all his family.  He will truly be missed.  Rest in peace, dear friend.

With much love,  Gail and Russell

Eddie and I had been trying to see each other, for several years, because at one of the reunions, he told me me he lived near my eldest daughter in Virginia.  I had my chances, and didn't call.  All the more reason not to put things off.  I loved his free spirit about sailing and cycling.  He was a real man, and some kind of a fighter pilot.

I'm sure going to miss him.

.   Last photo we have of Eddie/taken by my husband, Fred Edison.  He was back in Mexico and made a day trip to San Miguel to see us and have lunch at our Texas Cafe "THE LONGHORN" here in San Miguel.  Then he hopped on his bike and rode off into the wind.  He was killed on his bike a few weeks after leaving San Miguel.  I cannot describe my shock and saddness and inability to deal with his death.  Vaya con Dios to my dear and special friend.  I will miss you always,  Janice

One very fond memory of Eddie was his enthuastic guided tour of the Lexington for some of us at a reunion .  A ship he had actually landed a plane on during Viet Nam, I believe. Rest well, my friend.
