Lucy Alexander

Lucy Marshall Alexander Lucy Marshall Alexander was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on December 18, 1942 to Margaret Yarborough Alexander and Glenn Edward Alexander. She passed away on March 7, 2013 after a long illness which she courageously fought for many years. Mother to Celeste Moon (Randy) and R. Casselman Lutes (Elizabeth Ann), grandmother to her precious William Alexander Lutes and Emma Celeste Lutes, sister to Clyde Alexander (Jean), Jean Alexander Wright (Ken) and Kay Alexander Schroeder (Dale), Lucy loved her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lucy went from starched pinafores to billowing ball gowns, to a barkeep's apron to finally settling on an exquisite piece of soil in her beloved Hill Country. She was the proud owner of Hye Acres, which was home to all make and manner of dogs and more guinea hens than she could count. After graduating from St. Stephens School in Austin, she attended Sullins College, The University of Texas at Austin, and Trinity University. She was a voracious reader and world traveler. Lucy served as a member of the University of Texas McDonald Observatory Board of Visitors, was an alumnus of Leadership Texas and a friend of Bill W. She was an active member of St Luke's Episcopal Church, Cypress Mill, Texas, and loved those members who nurtured her in her faith journey. The family will forever be grateful for the loving care bestowed upon Lucy by the Hill Country Memorial Hospice of Fredericksburg, Texas. Special mention must be made for her dear friend, Lisa McCandless, whose presence in her last years nurtured her life and spirit. A memorial service celebrating Lucy's life will be held Monday, March 18, 11:30 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 263 Spur 962 East, Cypress Mill, Texas. Memorial donations may be made to: Hill Country Memorial Hospice, P.O.
