Betty Bailey Weaver

Corpus Christi, TX

Our beloved "Queen B," Betty Bailey Weaver, passed away peacefully, at home, on May 12, 2018.

Born in Robstown, Texas, to Harvey, Sr. and Dorothy Bailey on March 5, 1942. Betty was raised in Corpus Christi, TX, graduating from Ray High School.

Betty met the love of her life, Bennie E. Weaver, on a blind date, and they soon married in November 1961. Ben and Betty spent most of their married years in Corpus Christi, but also lived in Houston, TX and Sinton, TX throughout their years together. Betty started her working career with HEB and later moved on to banking at Northshore Bank (Houston, TX) and Commercial State Bank (Sinton, TX), as well as other banking institutions. Betty devoted her life to being Ben's "bride," nurturing their children with unconditional love, and creating a beautiful, welcoming home for family and friends to always enjoy. Betty's favorite hobbies were garage sales and resale shops. She even owned several resale shops following her retirement. She loved to create beautiful things from "the old" and make them "new" again.

Betty's legacy of love lives on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom adored their "Mammy."

Betty was predeceased by her parents and older sister, Doris Harlene Jernigan, as well as her devoted husband of 29 years, Ben. Left to honor and remember her with unceasing love are her daughter, Karen; son Harvey and wife Elaine; brother Harvey Bailey, Jr. and wife Shirley.

"Mammy's" three wonderful grandchildren will have her unceasing love to carry with them: Katherine Walker (Jeremy), Taylor Weaver (Mario Morales), and Chase Weaver. Betty also leaves to cherish her memory four great-grandchildren: Briley Crisp, Jiovanni Walker, Keegan Morales, and McKenna Morales, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held by the family on Saturday, May 19.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Betty's name may be made to any charity of your choice.
