In Memory

Diane White (O'Connor)

Patricia Diane O'Connor
of Escondido, CA

Patricia Diane of Escondido, California, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William F. White, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas, died in her sleep Easter morning after a long, valiant bout with melanoma. Diane graduated from W.B. Ray High School here, and earned her Masters Degree in Nutrition summa cum laude from National University of California. Anxious to travel and experience other cultures, she procured a teaching certificate which enabled her to teach English and Health Care all over the world and to acquire many friends. A stranger, to Diane, was simply a good friend whom she had not yet met. When word of her death was announced, condolences came in from students and friends everywhere--Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, France, England, Spain, etc. She was an adventurous soul whose interest, wit and laughter will be missed by many.

Diane was preceded in death by her brother, Billy, of Corpus Christi.

Survivors are a daughter, Kathryn Elliot (Darryl) of Union City, Georgia; a son, Michael O'Connor (Darlene) of San Diego, California; five grandchildren, her parents, her sisters, Kate Marston (Jerry) of Thomaston, Georgia, and Barbara White of Austin, Texas, her brother, Richard (Diane) of Kerrville, Texas, a large, loving extended family and many devoted friends.

Memorial services were held Saturday, March 26, 2003 at Questhaven Retreat in Escondido, the Rev. Blake Isaac officiating.
